StormLED AB, a company based on a project from the CSE Class of 2004, has developed a new generation of LEDs for solid-state general lighting. Offering a direct substitute to existing chips, the nanostructure zinc oxide based chips provides advantages in all key areas stated by the customers, in order to cross the chasm between niche applications and the general lighting market.
StormLED’s vision is to lead the way for solid-state lighting by being a competitive and environmentally friendly substitution to conventional light sources such as incandescent- and fluorescent lights.
StormLED’s core product is a Light Emitting Diode (LED) that emits white light and is fabricated using advanced nanotechnology using zinc oxide nanowires. StormLED’s LED-chip emits white light directly from the nanowires and is a direct substitute to all other white LED-chips that are available on the market today.
