SPR Biosensor is developing a diagnostic instrument consisting of one analysis unit and consumable chips designed to detect specific biomarkers/antigens. The instrument is expected to have the following properties:
- Results delivered within minutes, at the bedside.
- High sensitivity, i.e. the possibility to detect antigens directly from a patient sample, without the need for work-up procedures.
- Qualitative and quantitative measurements of antigens.
- Simple handling, such that one day of training will be sufficient for a health care professional.
- Multiplexed analysis, such that several antigens can be measured in one sample.
- Cost efficient, using very small amounts of reagents and low cost components.
