Oxeon develops, produces and markets spread tow carbon fibre reinforcements to international producers of advanced composites. By using TeXtreme® spread tow fabrics and TeXero® spread tow tapes, customers are able to reduce weight and increase perform- ance of their products. Aeroplanes, extreme cars, boats, bicycles and skis can be made lighter, stiffer and also receive a new look.
Oxeon’s patents serve as a solid foundation for further expansion, either through licensing out the weaving technology to different actors in the textile industry, or by creating a textile company producing unique tape woven products for different applications. Based on today’s resources and market knowledge the expansion strategy is a combination of licensing and fully controlled in-house production.
Solution
Carbon Fibre Fabric
TeXtreme is a patented, unique, Spread Tow fabric which is produced in a revolutionizing weaving process developed by Dr. Nandan Khokar at Chalmers University of Technology. TeXtreme is mostly produced in carbon fiber and is being used to produce advanced composites, for example; for body panels and chassis in Formula 1 cars and aeroplanes, or in sporting goods like bicycles, hockey sticks or kayaks.
TeXero Spread Tow tapes are narrow unidirectional tapes that are produced in Oxeon’s unique fiber spreading equipment and used as local reinforcements in similar applications.
