Hyron BioMedical

Hyron BioMedical

develops new substances for treatments of joint disease based on hyaluronic acid.
Encubator Portfolio Company from 2006.

With an initial focus on the veterinarian market, Hyron BioMedical’s objective is to develop new substances for the treatment of joint disease (osteoarthritis). Damaged joints, caused by intensive training and competition, are a huge problem among competition horses. Existing products on the market offer limited relief to the thousands of competition horses that frequently suffer from joint injuries. Hyron BioMedical will therefore focus on offering products that prevent and treat osteoarthritis with superior effectiveness and minimal side effects.

Solution

Osteoarthritis Treatment

Hyron BioMedical develops pharmaceuticals based on hyaluronic acid. Today, two products are in the pipeline: the first is a hyaluronic acid with a new formulation which will give a multi-potent effect in the joint, and the second product is a combination product where hyaluronic acid is combined with a specific peptide. By adding this specific peptide to the hyaluronic acid, the effectiveness of the treatment is greatly improved. Both products will be used to treat osteoarthritis, initially in horses and after additional investigations also in humans.
