Fuelgate

Fuelgate has the knowledge and the technology in how to develop a new type of liquid bio-fuel from the byproduct glycerol. This new fuel is 100 % renewable and carbon dioxide-free and will be used by district heating plants or in the processing industry in their combustion systems. This fuel can replace parts of the mineral fuels that are used today. One of the reasons to use glycerol as part of a fuel is that its quantity has increased substantially as a result of increased bio-diesel production. The bio-diesel producers are searching for new application areas for their glycerol, which is why they welcome an idea like the one Fuelgate has.

The fuel is a result of research from Chalmers University of Technology and a pending patent protects the fuel, as well as the in-house competence. The researchers behind the fuel have several years of experience in the bio-fuel market, which is valuable for the project.
