Traccine Pharmaceuticals are developing the world’s first vaccine against the most common reported sexually transmitted disease, Chlamydia. The vaccine is uniquely produced in transgenic plants, a new production method which enables the vaccine to be taken orally. The vaccine antigen has successfully been tested in two mice studies and additional tests are currently performed to document significant disease protection.
