Auremune Allergy Vaccine Development Receives Verification Money

A new exciting idea stemming from Sahlgrenska Academy makes it possible to create allergy-free generations through educating the immune system. A natural and user-friendly vaccine for children that will give a broad and life-long protection against allergy development is currently being developed by one of the projects in the incubator of Encubator.

The project has patent protected a specific bacterium with the ability to stimulate the immune system in order to avoid allergy development. The effect of the bacterium was first found in children who did not develop allergy and the mechanism has been proven in mice studies.

The project was, despite tough competition, recently awarded 320 000 SEK from GöteborgBIO and Sahlgrenska Science Park. The money will be used in a study to further verify the findings before regulated preclinical and clinical studies are begun.
