Through connections with CIP, the company realized that handing over the technology to CSE was the perfect way of proceeding with the project, and stay as a shareholder:
- The business area restriction was not a problem anymore.
- The technology was redeemed by the projects first employee, a PhD in Surface Chemistry, getting rid of all earlier problems and improving the performance.
- All costs involved with the project were covered by CSE and by governmental grants.
The project Lumina Adhesives became a Swedish limited company within one year after coming into the incubator and has now finished its first investment round of 3.6 MSEK. It has four employees and will in May employ another chemist. All necessary knowledge and experience has been transferred from the idea provider and Lumina Adhesives is now completely independent from the idea provider. With a recently filed second patent, Lumina Adhesives’ first large scale manufacturing is the next step!
